About David Teague

David Teague, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon with OU Health Physicians, specializing in trauma care. Dr. Teague current serves as the chair of the department of orthopedics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He also serves as the medical director for perioperative services at OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center. He actively takes call and cares for injured Oklahomans at our state’s only Level I trauma center.

Dr. Teague earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, TX. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and his fellowship training in orthopedic traumatology at Harborview Medical Center at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA.

His extensive involvement in trauma care and education nationally led to a six-year appointment to the American College of Surgeons  Committee on Trauma. In addition, he served as president of the Orthopaedic Trauma Assocation (OTA) in 2018-2019, a culmination of decades of contributions to that international 2,500-member organization dedicated to the advancement of trauma care and trauma surgeons.

He served two disaster relief tours on the US Naval Ship Comfort in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake.

In his spare time, Dr. Teague pretends to enjoy running for exercise and possesses below average skills as a golfer and tennis player. He is mighty proud of his PhD microbiologist wife and their two adult sons.
